Japan - September/October 26
This year Lenny is 16, and it is to the land of the rising sun that he has elected to travel for the traditional Society adventure. Tokyo exploring, the bullet train, Mount Fuji, Kyoto and more sushi, tempura and ramen than you can handle? You bet!
Mount Buller, Victoria.
Almost a decade since we last hit the slopes of Mt Buller. Sounds like high time for a return in winter 2026..!
Bright, Victoria.
Surely the Society must return to Bright, Victoria again in 2027. We have still not managed the Three Huts walk! And there are more stretches of river to kayak, MTB trails to hurtle down and all our favourites to revisit.
The Milford Track, New Zealand.
An epic hike across Fiordland in the South Island of New Zealand. Dates to be confirmed…
The Bermagui Coastline Mapping Project
An attempt to map the coastline of Bermagui from Horsehead Rock to Beares Beach, documenting all bays and features of note encountered on the way.
Snowies Apline Walk, Kosciuszko National Park.
A 55-kilometre, 4-day walk across the park's spectacular alpine area to link the resorts of Guthega, Charlotte Pass, Perisher and Lake Crackenback. Count us in!
Queenstown & Surrounds
A return to one of the most special places to the Exploration Society. We have been away for far too long!
Three Capes Track, Southern Tasmania.
48 kilometres and 4 days of cliff-hugging wildness in Australia's far south-east starting and finishing at World Heritage-listed Port Arthur Historic Site. The next stop to the south is Antarctica!
